While the Fall of the Mountain King campaign is quickly approaching, there is so much to tell you about. We want you to know as much as you can going into our next Mountain King campaign. So here we are.
Fall of the Mountain King: Champions of the Mountain
Contrary to popular belief, Trolls value many qualities aside from just brute strength. Certain exceptional Trolls excel above their kin in some extraordinary way to earn the title Champion. These Champions of cunning, strategy, bravery—and yes, strength—are loyal to their home clans, but they can be convinced to join your faction in the battle for the defence of the Mountain. We promised more information about the upcoming Fall of the Mountain King, so here it is. Hitting Kickstarter June 1st at 9 am, this game is the prequel to the In the Hall of the Mountain King .

Hello Trolls,
It's been quite some time since we have updated you about where we are and what we're doing. Amazingly, In the Hall of the Mountain King continues to climb the charts on BGG. We are so incredibly proud of this achievement. The last time we updated you, just six short months ago, the game was sitting at 818. Today, it is proudly situated at 659!!
Some of you have heard rumblings from the Mountain. Now is the time for us to tell you about the history of the Mountain King. And we wanted YOU to be the first to know!
Fall of the Mountain Kingtells the tale of the Great Gnome Invasion and introduces some challenging and unique mechanisms:
Building an ancestry -->Decisions made early reverberate through the game.
Area Majority -->Battle other troll leaders for positional control within the Mountain.
Recruit Champions -->Each Champion has a valuable special power.
Influence Clans -->Win favour with Clans by gaining territory and defeating Gnomes.
Fall of the Mountain King is a standalone prequel to In the Hall of The Mountain King, set during the catastrophic war that drove the Trolls from their mountain kingdom generations ago. Build your ancestry to drive your actions in the caverns, win the loyalty of the clan Champions, and strive to be Trolldom's greatest defender against the Gnomish onslaught.
Coming to Kickstarter on June 1!!
Fall of the Mountain King is for 2-5 players, ages 14+, and plays in approximately 90 minutes. It launches on Kickstarter on June 1, 2021, with fulfillment in late spring 2022. For more information, and for a launch day reminder, visit our Burnt Island Games website: www.burntislandgames.com.

Hey Trolls,
It's been so long since we last sent you an update. We thought that now is as good a time as any.
If you can believe it, In the Hall of the Mountain King is still kicking butt on BGG.
We are inching our way up at 818. It was a dream for us when the game crossed over the 1000 mark. But to have 1.5K ratings means the world to us.
If you have yet to rate the game on BGG, you can do so here. Honest ratings are always the best ratings.
