Hey Trolls,
While fulfillment is wrapping up, we have so much to tell you about. But first, we wanted to thank all of our backers once again for being so amazing. This was not the most smooth fulfillment process (for my fellow Canadians especially) we've ever experienced. But you all kept your composure, were completely patient; and for that we are so grateful. Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts!
BGG 20 Most Anticipated Games of 2020
In the Hall of the Mountain King is considered a 2020 release because it is not going to retail until next month. Let's show our enthusiasm for the game by voting for it in this BGG list. By voting for the game you will help us in building up momentum. We need that momentum to keep the game going.
At the same time, we'll be seeing our next game, In Too Deep, out on Kickstarter this Spring. Building it up will help us fund the campaign quicker, thereby allowing us to get to Stretch Goals faster. If you are as excited about it as we are please vote for it here.

Hey Trolls,
Canadians, do you remember that I told you that the Cursed Mountain solo/coop expansions weren't slated to arrive in Toronto until the 19th of January? Well, I was able to get them shipped out earlier and today they arrived. Tyler from D6 says that they will complete the processing part of fulfillment this afternoon, then begin shipping you the games first thing tomorrow morning. How exciting!
I know it's been hard to watch the rest of the world play and post about In the Hall of the Mountain King. So, thank you, thank you, thank you for being so patient and supportive. We can't wait to hear what you think.
An interesting game here. When I first saw this game, I fell in love. Still not sure why, but I did. Then I received it, read through the rules, and started to play the 1st round, and I loathed it. But, you have to give a game a fair shake, so I figured we would finish it up. Then by the 3rd round, the game started to click. Then the 5th round I was deep into the game, figuring out how to maximize my mine's layout and trying to figure out how best to manipulate the idols that I only just realized that I needed to get towards the center of the mountain. By the 7th round, I was seeing how I sabotaged myself early on with some of my choices and I was trying desperately to achieve results despite my earlier troll-like stupidity. Then as we counted up the scores and realizing I lost. Coming in 3rd in a very tight 4 player game by only 6 points, I was sad that it was over. Never has a game made me spin around in circles so much! The components (KS version) were just excellent! The gameplay that I started off thinking was convoluted and boring, ended up interesting and intuitive. The cascading resource mechanic was something that I've never seen before and was really cool to see resources explode in front of you as your "troll moot" grew into it's full potential. Overall I really like this one and I hope to get it back to the table soon.
Great tile-laying, route-building game with a really cool resource production mechanic and some semi-pick-up-and-deliver type things going on. I loved, but also hated (in a good way), the high tension in racing to place pedestals in a 4-player game. A 2-player game (on the 3p map) was very fun, but did not fill me with a sense of urgency like a 4-player game did. I think 3p might be the sweet spot here! Very enjoyable for a somewhat short (60-90 minute) game, especially with the special powers thrown in.
Wow, this is fantastic. Very interesting tile laying concepts where every early turn counts. Two player experience was really fun. It is gorgeous and played really slick. No klunky rules or weird things that didn't seem to fit. We are excited to play the co-op way and we are looking forward to our next play through.

Hey Trolls,
While we are in our final shipping phase, we wanted to update you, as well as highlight some of the amazing things that have been going on with In the Hall of the Mountain King out in the wild.
Canadian Fulfillment
Your games have finally landed. That's right!! D6 is has your games. As you can imagine we have been eager to get these out to you as fast as we can. But don't get too excited Canadians. In the midst of all of it, it looks like we sent ourselves too few Cursed Mountain expansions. I take full ownership of this. I am working on getting them to Toronto ASAP. PSI says that they will be shipped on the 9th and will land (if there are no weather issues) on the 16th, in Toronto (but I think I can keep working on getting them to do it sooner). Once the extra expansions arrive, we'll just pop them in the boxes that have already been packed and labeled and send them out right away.

Rules Translations
Trolls, the English, Spanish, and German rulebooks are all posted here on our website, and here on BGG. The other languages are coming. We promise. We had a hard time finding someone to do the Russian rulebook, so that will take a bit more time. But the French and Italian should be up by the beginning of next week sometime.

Shipping Update

Hey Trolls,
On the eve of the eve of the new year, I come with good news and not the best news. I'll begin with not the best news.
Canada Fulfillment
Of course, those of us in Canada have heard this story over and over. Our games are stuck in the US. They were supposed to make it to D6 last Friday, but unfortunately it seems that they hit some bad weather and are stuck in Ohio. They were not delivered today. And I get the feeling that they are not going to be delivered tomorrow either. That leaves the delivery for January 2nd. I have been speaking with Tyler from D6 every day since this process began. He assures me that everything is ready for the shipment. The second the games land they will, 1. let me know, and 2. begin sending them out right away. I'm so sorry to be bringing this news to you at this time. I really wish it were different.
US Fulfillment
PSI told me this evening that they have completed their end of the fulfillment process today. That means that if you haven't received your game yet, it should arrive over the next week and a bit. If you have not received an email, it doesn't mean that your game isn't coming. There are many reasons you might not have received an email. I will not be checking the status of your game until the week after next. Please, please, please do not ask me to do it. So many of you have already, and it has turned out that each of you have received your game the next day. It is not time for you to worry yet.
Asia/Europe/Australia/New Zealand/RoW
All of your games have gone out. It doesn't mean that you should have your game already. It just means that your game has left the warehouse. If you could also wait until the week after next to ask for us to check up on your game, we'd really appreciate it. Some of your games will take a long time to get to you (depending where you are in the world).

Shipping Update and Happy Holidays

Hey Trolls,
Good news for backers in the US and others around the world!
US Fulfillment
PSI has agreed to continue with shipping through tomorrow. I hope that this means that sending games out will be complete by the end of tomorrow. But I can't say for sure and PSI won't update this for me until the end of the day tomorrow.
Australia/New Zealand Fulfillment
Backers in Australia and New Zealand, Aetherworks has completed their part! They have sent out all of your games. This doesn't mean you should all have them by now. It just means that all of the games have left their warehouse. Please be patient for your game to arrive.
South/Central America Fulfillment
Backers in South and Central America. Originally we were going to have your games fulfilled through VFI. Something happened over the last couple of weeks to their shipping prices that have prohibited that from happening. We have sent the request to GamesQuest to fulfill the games instead. You should have or will be soon receiving your games from them. There is no telling when they are going to show up though.
Canadian Fulfillment
Canada, you know where you stand already. Your games will begin fulfillment on the 27th. Hopefully that means you'll get it soon after that.
Replacement Parts
As mentioned in the previous update, you can send for replacement parts to [email protected] with your request, photos, and your address. We will get to replacements ASAP. We are back in the office on January 5th to send them out, but will be taking requests through the holidays.
